Scientist / Sr. Scientist, Molecular Biology

Bond’s Senior Scientist will have hands-on experience with molecular cloning, strain engineering and recombinant protein expression, and play a central role in establishing high-performing strains to produce nutritious animal protein for our pet food recipes.


Responsibilities include:

  • General cloning and strain engineering using bacterial, yeast, and fungi systems.

  • Protein analytics including protein gel electrophoresis, protein quantification, Western Blot.

  • Small molecule analytics, including running HPLC and other instruments.

  • Running bench scale bioreactors and evaluating results.

  • Write technical reports, summarize and present data internally within a multidisciplinary team environment.

 

Qualifications:

  • MS or PhD in biology, biochemistry, bioengineering, or relevant discipline.

  • Strong molecular biology skills including extensive experience in various vector construction techniques.

  • Strain/metabolic engineering experience.

  • Experience running SDS-PAGE and Western Blots.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (maintaining clear, accurate and complete documentation of experimental data and procedure; presenting data internally and externally).

  • Ability to operate with a high degree of independence, as well as a strong team player.

  • Lab-scale bioreactor hands-on experience is preferred.

  • Experience running HPLC is preferred.
