Yet sourcing meat sustainably can be a challenge. Dogs and cats are voracious consumers of animal protein, and it’s estimated that between 20-30% of the negative environmental impacts of meat production can be attributed to their daily consumption.
That is, until now. Employing similar processes to those used in craft brewing, we’re able to harvest the same, nature-identical chicken, turkey, beef, and other high-value proteins that can serve as the foundation of pet food recipes, with significantly less resources and carbon intensity- and without harming other animals.

Our science team just got better.
Samantha Kent joins Bond as our first Research Associate and Lab Manager.
Sam moved to Colorado from the Midwest, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin and helped develop new products as Food Technologist at Bay Valley Foods.
Once her hiking shoes were firmly planted in the Front Range, she completed her Master of Science in Chemistry (Biochemistry Emphasis) at the University of Colorado Denver and then plugged into the Boulder biotech scene for two years producing and testing antibodies for use as inexpensive therapeutics.
Now, meat is on her research menu.
No doubt her cat Porter would approve.

From Mexico City, Bond welcomes our newest Bioprocess Engineer, Uriel Hernandez.
Uriel spent the last seven years managing the control and operation of bioreactors to produce and scale a variety of yeast, fungus and algae products for international clients at Fermic Mexico- one of the largest fermentation plants in Latin America.
Most recently he was elevated to the Deputy Head of Fermic’s pilot plant; now in Boulder he’ll be intimately involved with setting up our pilot facility and working with external CMOs as we ramp up production of a variety of meat proteins for our pet food partners.
Uriel holds a MSc in Biochemical Engineering from the University of Birmingham in the UK.
